Orange Creamsicle Smoothie by Chef PsychicVeggie

This is my favorite sickie drink. Even when I don't even feel like getting out of my sickie bed to get a glass of OJ I'll make this. It only takes a minute longer and it's full of healing goodness.

Directions

So simple and full of good nutrition

Step 1: Zest 1/2 of one orange and reserve for garnish.

Step 2: Peel and quarter 3 oranges

Step 3: Put all ingredients (except zest) in high power blender.

Step 4: Blend on high for 1 minute

Garnish with orange zest or a sprinkle of nutmeg.

This drink akes only a minute longer than simply pouring yourself a glass of OJ and you get all the fiber from the fruit, a bit of protein and vitamin D.

Makes 4 8 oz servings. Just cut the mixture in 1/2 if you are juicing for one.

I've discovered a fun new twist to this drink. I use Vanilla Almond milk, an extra orange, and a hefty splash of Perrier water or other mineral water to top it off.

In my new version I juice 4 oranges, use 1 cup vanilla almond milk, 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder and 1 cup ice cubes. Top off with Perrier, nutmeg and zest if you want to get fancy!

The Vanilla Almond milk gives it a little extra sweetness and the Perrier' water gives it just enough fizz to make it fun.

You can always use regular milk and pure vanilla extract.

For a more 'shake like' consistency add more protein powder and a little less milk.
